I once showed you a picture where Usyaka is sharpening her nose. She does it every morning with the blinds’ string.
Here’s the video of Usyaka doing just the same with a toy’s string.

ahhh….the truth comes out….NOW I know what they are doing.
The truth has been uncovered

If reincarnation is true, I want to come back as a cat that has this much love shown to her.
That’s an interesting thought
Aaawe, That was adorable!
Thanks
My cat sharpens it’s nose on a nail file..haha.. he takes it as soon as I put it down then he runs off with it and gets to sharpening.
oh no! Really? I guess he has the sharpest nose ever, what a brave boy!
Oh God! Look at her paw, she’s HOLDING the string in order to touch it with her nose and mouth. Cats are smart animals, indeed but I sure never seen a cat doing this! Our cats have to meet, ours will be so much brighter, haha
Yes, exactly, she uses her fingers a lot on this process
Usyaka once met a huge rottweiler. We took the rottweiler away the moment Usyaka started walking towards the dog. She’s never met any cats, though:)
In our home we call that making it “Mine”! Usyaka is one beautiful kitty!
Thank you! I know what you mean, but I think it’s a bit different from “making it mine”
Awww.
It must be hard work keeping that nose so perfectly shaped.
Well, she’s a hard-working girl
Profile: The Answer. Very sharp.
That’s funny

I assume she’s scent-marking the string, but why string, I wonder?
I don’t know, I’m not sure it’s a scent-marking. It’s one and the same string, every morning and then any other string that is stretched in front of her nose.
I see that people got interested in what exactly is going on. We’re so used to it we almost forgot it’s weird.
I don’t think it’s the usual scent-marking, because she’s using her tongue a lot during the process. She wets a string and then slides her nose along the string, she presses more around the nose area.
She does it every morning with a special string near the window and that usually happens when she’s washing herself before breakfast. I’m inclined to think she’s using a string as a tool to scratch her nose.
Whenever she’s offered any other string she readily repeats the procedure.
As it was noticed above, she does use her hands a lot in this to control which way the string is going.
She likes having her nose scratched with a cocktail straw (It’s another story, I’ll show this some time later) so she probably just likes the sensation. Still, I’m not sure. It’s her thing, her secret
She has an itchy nose
So cute. My cat Atticus does this as well!
