It feels amazing to have some free hours and to update my blog. I’ve also created a page on the blog with stories about homeless cats of Montenegro.

Just love her! She appears so human in your face studies.
She is very human
Now I know this for sure.
I’ve just gotten my Usyaka tsatsch in the mail– early Christmas buying. Mousepads and the puzzle — it all looks great.
These portraits somehow make me think of Edward Gorey’s chiaroscuro cat art, though his models had blunter faces.
OMG! Dear friend, thank you so much!
I’m so happy to know they look great and you liked them!
As always, your comment brought new knowledge into my life. I had no idea who Edward Gorey was. And I still have no idea what this tsatsch is.
Thank you, really, really much!
Tsatsch or Chotchkes or chatchkas is Yiddish for pretty little things you don’t really need, like souvenirs or mantel decorations or gnome candlesticks, or what-ever.
Though of course it covers useful items that have been “prettied up,” as in this case.
Oh, this is AWESOME! Thank you for enriching my vocabulary!
OMG! I just realized we have this word in Russian! Although it’s pronounced more like “tsatski” but it means the same. Wow!
Yep… just about every language spoken in Eastern Europe is stirred up into Yiddish and it has the best colloquialisms in the world.
Nice! You know so much
))
Um, well mostly on this one I went to college an hour away from New York City. Fifty percent Jewish kids, with German and Polish and Russian and all kinds of names, but they all said “putz” and “farblonjet” and things like that.
Usyaka is gorgeous! Nothing like the four cats in our family, who are all gorgeous in their own right as well. Your photos here (and all over your homepage, which I just spent about twenty minutes reading) are fabulous.
This is one sexy cat … damn, all smouldering and secretive.
