Did you see Not Cat’s yogic pic yesterday? A friend sent me a photo of a yoga for cats calendar with a cat who is a dead ringer for my boy on the cover. I wonder if he has been moonlighting…
wow! :)) that’s interesting! I’ll have a look!
Cats invented yoga!!!
Was she just… No. I won’t go there. I’m sure we cat people know what she was just doing, or about to do!!!
Yep, it’s that hind leg in the air and the head doesn’t seem to know or care that it’s there!
@lahgitana – exactly! She just froze there, thinking about something else.
I know! How do they do that?! Maybe dust motes catch their eyes or they see ghosts that we don’t see?!
The idea about the ghosts sounds creepy! Oh, I remembered (a bit of off topic) I once woke up thinking I saw/heard something in the room at night, and because it was dark and I have a rich imagination I got scared very quickly. I then tried to calm myself down, telling myself that if there was anything strange in the room Usyaka would wake up and she didn’t… and then I turned to her and saw that she was staring at the same spot and her hair on the back rose up.
That’s probably the most creepy experience we’ve had together with her.
See?! I KNEW there was a reason a cat would sometimes stare at seemingly nothing–nothing to us monkeys, but spooky stuff to them!
Yeah, well, I hope the stare at flying dust most of the time.
Ok, that IS creepy. I trust my cats’ instincts a lot more than mine!!!
haha, I was laughing when I read this.
Well, in fact, I wasn’t sure myself if it was ethical to post this photo, but then I thought, well, she didn’t finish whatever it was that she was about to do, so why not then 🙂
Ha! Trust me to bring the whole tone of the pic down to a kindergarten level 🙂
so that’s how she stays so flexible!
haha, yeah, one of the exercises :))
The tall person says that Usyaka’s pose is similar to the yoga pose ‘Dedicated to the Sage Marichi’. Marichi is the great-grandfather of Manu (“man, thinking, intelligent”), the Vedic Adam, and the “father” of humanity.
Bassa, that sounds so clever!
I googled the pose and thank you so much for the interesting info! 🙂
It took me a moment to see how her legs came from where. 😮
haha )) I tried to make this black and white and then I couldn’t see those legs myself any more 😀
Awesome! Wish I could do that!
You’re right, I’m sure it’s not easy 🙂
Yeah, she’s very talented in those :))
